District branding

District branding is an initiative taken by the present government to develop the distinction and potential of every district of Bangladesh which is a part of the implementation of Vision 2021 and Vision 2041. It is a project under the A2i program under the supervision of the Cabinet Division.

Cultural heritage of the district

It is a traditional fair of Bogra district. 11 kms east of Bogra, on the banks of Ichhamati River, on the banks of the Magh month every year, the Hindu community organizes the fair. Large fishes of rare species are found in the fair.

Ceremonial Mela: The fair is held every year on the second Sunday in Sherpur upazila of Bogra. The history of this fair is 457 years old.

 

Significant innovations of the district

There are several factories in Bogra's BSCIC, Gohail Road, Station Road, Railway Market, Santahar and many other areas for making agricultural parts. 80 percent of the total demand of the country is being manufactured in Bogra. Rice Cutting Machines, Seed Spraying Machines, Horseman Machines, Rice Threshing Machines, Shaleo Pumps etc. are being marketed at very low cost, which have played an important role in agricultural development.
